A. Yes, the NESS XCEL  smartphone app is available  for users and installers to operate and remotely program Ness XCEL panels. Or you can operate and program by direct SMS messaging.

Q. What options can be programmed by SMS?
A. The user can program entry/exit delays/siren timer, user codes and the 10 SMS phone numbers.

Q. Will the panels be supplied with a SIM card?
A. Yes,  all Ness D8XCEL and D16XCEL  alarm panels are supplied with a NESS SIM for your convenience. Activate the SIM on a competitive Ness plan or BYO SIM

Q. Are XCEL panels SIM locked?
A. NO, the panels are  not locked to the Ness SIM, but the SIM plans are so low in comparison that you wouldn’t consider anything else. The Panels DO NOT SUPPORT PRE-PAID SIM CARDS

Q. What type of SIM card is installed?
A. XCEL panels use a Standard sized SIM which is supplied with the panel.

Q. Can I still use iComms and aComms apps?
A. Yes, these apps are still supported (see below links)

Q. Are XCEL panels compatible with previous keypads?
A. Ness has released an updated Navigator Touch Screen Keypad and a new KPX+ LCD keypad   to support new cellular information and functionality.
The Ness D8XCEL and D16Xcel  will support existing infrastructure such as existing PIR security motion detectors .

Q. Is an antenna supplied?
A. Yes, XCEL panels will be supplied with a 4G antenna with self-adhesive and magnet base.

Q. Do XCEL panels support central station monitoring?
A. Yes, you can monitor to a central station in Contact ID format as well as self-monitor by SMS. The programming options are flexible so you can report back-to-base and also by SMS or either method only.

Q. Are the panels affected by 3G Telecommunication Shutdown?
A. No, Ness Security XCEL panels have an inbuilt 4G dialler which will replace the phased out 3G.  On good authority from Telstra  the 4G network will remain online for many years to come and is said to be around for at least the next 15 years.
